Agnes Reed Wilkinson Hawthorne

Agnes Reed Wilkinson Hawthorne, 83, of Kenbridge, VA. joined her family in Heaven on Thursday, September 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Tommy Reed Wilkinson, her husband Lenwood Cephas Hawthorne; her son, Lenwood Cephas Hawthorne, Jr; two sisters, Nancy Shell and Helen Daniel and many other cherished family members and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Wilkinson, (Dennis), Becky Berthiaume (Scott) and Dale Hawthorne; her grandchildren, Rebekah Hawthorne (Josh), Michael Wilkinson, Daniel Wilkinson (Alex), Hailee Whitby, Kasey Whitby and Nathan Whitby; her great-grandchildren, Lexi, Cordelia and Tag; her sisters, Edna Gibbs, and Harriett Cabaniss (Julian) and many friends. Agnes grew up in Dundas, VA. and graduated from Kenbridge High School. In 1960, she married “Len” her high school sweetheart. She worked many long days on the farm, a labor she loved. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, flowers, and birds but most of all spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her chicken salad, her Brunswick stew, her rolls and her sweet smile. Agnes Reed was a lifelong member of Perseverance Christian Church, 2703 Gigg Road, Kenbridge VA. where graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 14 at 2:00 pm with visitation to follow in the church fellowship hall.
