Barbara "Judy" Caroline Cave Edwards

Barbara “Judy” Caroline Cave Edwards, age 84, of Amelia, went home to be with the Lord and joined her family in Heaven on April 24, 2026.

Judy dedicated her life to caring for her home and her loved ones. She was lovingly known as “Nanny” by the many children she watched over the years, reflecting the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone around her.

Judy was a compassionate caregiver, always ready to support and assist family members who needed her help. Her nurturing spirit was felt by all who knew her and benefited from her generosity and attention.

Judy’s love for sewing was plain to see in the many quilts she created for her family. Each quilt was a labor of love, a testament to her creativity and dedication to making those around her feel cherished and remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Edwards; sons, Billy Phillips (wife Louanne) and Micky Phillips (wife Judy); daughters, Linda Crocker (husband Ken) of Amelia and Betty Carol Jones (husband Randy) of Sandston, Va.; brothers, Thomas Cave and Jake Cave of Amelia, Va.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Phillips Sr.; her grandson, John Fariss IV; her sisters, Ruth Purvis, Frances Holder, Ida May Anderson, Betty Jean Barnard, Thelma Lee Aldrich, and Lois Redd; and her brothers, James “Red” Cave, John Henry Cave, and Emory Cave.

The family will receive friends Wednesday April 29, 2026 at Jetersville Baptist Church, 6440 Amelia Springs Rd, Jetersville, VA 23083 from 11AM until start of services at 1PM. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery 15600 Genito Rd Amelia Court House, VA 23002.

Family and friends are welcome to gather with us after the graveside services at “The Clearing” Woodland Retreat Center, 14006 Genito Road, Amelia Court House VA 23002
