Bettie Ann Skelton, 89, of Victoria, VA, passed away on March 17, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Watlington; her parents, Lucious Linwood Skelton and Annie Elizabeth Robertson Skelton; and siblings Edwin Skelton, Lula Skelton, Daisy Codispoti, Ruby Goad and Mary Hudson. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Skelton (Terry Mueller) of Chase City and Blair McCoy (Glen McCoy, deceased) of Victoria; grandsons Ted Jenkins of Nevada and Chris Jenkins of Vermont; great-grandchildren Tyler Jenkins and Samantha Jenkins of Nevada and Liam Jenkins and Ezrie Jenkins of Vermont; one brother, Ray Skelton (Janie) of Victoria; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Bettie was born September 21, 1934 in Rehoboth, VA. She raised her children in Maryland. She worked for the Montgomery County Circuit Court system for nearly 30 years, retiring as the state-elected Clerk of the Court in 1995. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, yard work, making pies and taking care of her numerous dogs and cats. She will always be remembered for her kind smile and giving heart. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 6:30 to 8PM at the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 1PM.
