December 20, 1934 — June 12, 2026

Lunenburg, VA

On June 12, 2026, Betty Lee Allen Corning Cox quietly left this earth and arrived in glory to meet Jesus her Savior, God the father, her family and friends . Born December 20, 1934. and predeceased by her husband Buddie Cox on December 26, 2016. She leaves behind one daughter, Kittrell Lynn Cox Elsaesser (Jimmie), two sons, Dana Andrew Cox (Kim), and the apple of her eye, son, Kevin Algie Cox. Kevin moved home in 2013 to care for our father then immediately following dad’s death, caring for our mother Betty. Kevin is our family hero. We all helped in any way that we could. Betty also leaves behind six grown grandchildren, JB Daniel (Nicole), Courtney Daniel Shortridge, Edwin Gunn Daniel, Roman Zava, Heather Cox Gwaltney (Jason ), Hannah Cox Lamb (Steven), and 10 great grandchildren. Betty was a mother, homemaker, a 21 year Navy wife, and Victoria librarian for 19 years. She loved books, her azaleas, and planning anything from lunches for family reunions to yearly State Park family vacations from 1978 until 2013. One granddaughter secretly referred to her as the “family puppet master”. She will be missed greatly. A special thank you to her many devoted, dedicated, kind, compassionate, and reliable caregivers Liz Graves, Shirley Ramsey, Donna Holcomb, and Deanna Ellis. A memorial service will be held at Victoria Christian Church on June 30 at 11 o’clock with visitation at 10 o’clock prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please consider your favorite charity.
