Carol Leigh Palmer, 87, of Victoria, VA joined her family in Heaven on October 4, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Harley Orville Gilbert and Helen Hoffman Tilton Gilbert.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles Edgar Palmer, III; her children, Cristy Lynn Palmer of Raleigh, NC John Robert Palmer (Mary) of Califon, NJ. and Nancy Leigh Anderson (Erik) of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Noelle, Benjamin, Jack and Simon; and her sister, Joan Breece of Altharetta, GA. Carol grew up in Yardley, Pennsylvania and graduated from Pennsbury High School. She worked for many years as a secretary for various public school systems. She was a member of Thrifts Chapel United Methodist Church and was a former Matron of the New Jersey Chapter 63 of the Order of the Eastern Star in High Bridge New Jersey. Carol loved all of nature with its changing seasons. She especially loved birds and butterflies. She was a longtime member of the Crewe Garden Club in Crewe, VA. and enjoyed playing the piano. The family would like to thank the team at Amedisys Hospice in Blackstone for their attention, love and concern for Carol while under their care.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 3PM at the Church of God of Prophecy, 1127 South Broad Street, Kenbridge, VA 23944
