Charles Edward Arthur

Charles Edward Arthur, 74, of Kenbridge, VA passed away Sept. 1, 2023. He was the son of the late Hubert and Eunice Arthur and brother of the late Franklin Arthur. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gloria M. Arthur; his daughter, Christin Arthur (Aaron Kershaw) of Elizabeth City, NC; his son, Brian Arthur (Laura) of South Hill. He was Papa Charles to 2 grandchildren, Madeline and Wyatt. Also surviving is his twin brother James (Cynthia) of Kenbridge and brother Phil of Amelia. Charles served our country in the US Navy. He was a self-employed painter for many years. He was devoted to his trade and took great pride in his work. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing, hunting and antiquing. He will always be remembered for being a good husband and father. He loved to spend time with his family especially the grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 6 to 7:30PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Graveside funeral services will be held 2PM Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the Kenbridge Rescue Squad, P.O.
