On Sunday April 21, 2024 at VCU Hospital, Richmond, VA, Clinton McCray Austin took flight with the angels to join his heavenly family. Clinton McCray Austin, son of the late Edna McCray Austin was born May 24, 1951 in Charlotte County, VA. At an early age he was baptized and joined the Mt. Ellis Baptist Church, Keysville, VA. He received his formal education in the Charlotte County Public School System where he graduated and attended Norfolk State University. He was a Supervisor/Technician for J.P Stevens and later BG & F. Clinton was affectionately known as “Clicky” He was reserved and quiet, yet always seemed to make friends wherever he went. Clinton loved his family greatly. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and caring friend. He enjoyed cooking, yard work, playing sports, watching sports, fishing, Nascar, going to Myrtle Beach and spending time with his family. He was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Lucy Austin; his mother, Edna Marie Austin and his father-in-law, Richard C. Kendrick, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Linda M. Austin; his daughter, Taharra Sue Osbourne (Robert) of Riverview, FL; his son, McCray M. Austin of Brooklyn, NY; step daughters, Twyla Jones of Midlothian, VA and Bianca Barbour of Victoria, VA; 7 grandchildren, Morgan Osbourne, Robert Osbourne, III, Tierra Yuille, Tiana Jones, Jacob Barton, Eli Barton and Emma Barton; his brother, John Austin and his wife Edith of Keysville, VA; mother-in-law, Esther Mae Kendrick; sisters-in-law, Debbie Wilmouth (Roy) of Victoria and Libbie Barber (Brad) of Elon, NC; brother-in-law, Donnie Kendrick and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7PM on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge, where funeral services will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 at 2PM. Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria.
