Editha Apostol Barlow

Editha “Edith” A. Barlow, 60, of Richmond, VA went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Edmundo C. Apostol and Lolita R. DeLeon. Editha  was born and raised in Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Philippines. She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from the University of Santo Tomas. Her journey eventually brought her to the United States, where she built an even stronger foundation of faith and devotion that would guide her throughout her life centered on faith, family and love.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Lawrence “Larry” E. Barlow; her loving daughters, Ashley Barlow, Lesley Barlow, and Shirley B. Fung and her husband, Jedi; and her cherished granddaughter, Mabel Fung, who brought her immense joy. 

Editha was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She dearly loved the Lord. She was baptized and attended Grove Avenue Baptist Church in Richmond. She was deeply disciplined in her daily devotions and prayer, drawing strength and peace in her faith. She was a woman of deep strength, love, and kindness. Though gentle in spirit, her character spoke volumes. She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments, especially in time spent with her family and in reading. Her warmth, resilience, and steadfast love left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds great comfort in knowing she is now at peace, embraced in the loving presence of Jesus who she loved so faithfully. The family will receive relatives and friends at Staples Funeral Home, 2300 Nottoway Boulevard, Victoria, VA, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the start of services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria, VA.
