Edward Green “Ted” Terrell, Jr., 87, of Colonial Beach, Virginia, passed away February 3, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Green Terrell and Frances Rouzie Terrell. He grew up in Kenbridge, Virginia, graduated from Fork Union Military Academy and attended Richmond Professional Institute. Ted was always a hard worker. As a youngster, he carried papers, cut grass, showed movies at the local theater, and when needed worked at his father's Ford dealership and service center. He enjoyed a successful career in the paint and coatings industry and reaped the rewards enjoying traveling, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, and golf! Ted was also active in his community supporting his neighborhood civic association, the Eagles, the American Legion, and spent many hours volunteering at the Colonial Beach Moose Lodge. He honorably and proudly served in the US. Army National Guard for nine years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean Anderson Terell, his daughter, Mary Jean (Doug) of Rockville, Virginia, and his brother Thomas (Ed) of Kenbridge, Virginia. A private graveside interment will be held at the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Colonial Beach United Methodist Church at a later date. Remembrance contributions may be made to Colonial Beach Methodist Church, 1 Washington Avenue, Colonial Beach, VA. 22443 or to the charity of your choice. Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, in charge of arrangements.
