Edwin Perry Pernell, III, 57, of Church Road, VA started playing bass for the Angels in Heaven on September 27, 2024. He was the son of the late Edwin P. Pernell, Jr. and Gloria P. Bridgforth. He is survived by his wife Mary Featherstone Pernell; his sons whom he dearly loved, Ashby, William (Madison) and Bryant (Tyler); his brother Courtney (Shannon); nieces, nephews and many friends. Perry grew up in South Hill, Virginia. He graduated from Kenston Forest High School in 1985 where he played football and baseball. He graduated from Hampden Sydney College in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He was a proud member of the Chi Phi fraternity. Perry’s passion was always music. He could play any instrument but enjoyed playing bass the most. He loved Kenston Forest Football and he helped coach there for many years. He was a devoted Pittsburg Steelers fan and he loved all animals. A celebration of Perry’s life will be held 2PM Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Kahill's Restaurant in South Hill.
