Ernest Lee Miles

Ernest “Ernie” Miles, 65, of Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026. He was predeceased by his wife Vickie Miles; parents Lee B. Miles, Sr. and Edna Taylor Miles; brothers Lee B. Miles, Jr., Roger Miles, Olin Wayne Miles, Frankie Miles, Earl Miles, and George Miles; sister Lorene Duty; and, his fur baby, Daisy.

He is survived by his stepchildren Jennifer Burke (Johnny) and Chris Burke (Melissa); five grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers Sonny Miles, Johnny Miles (Beverly), and Jerry Miles (Barbara); and, one sister Mary Hurt (Eddie).

Ernie was born and raised in Chesterfield County, the youngest of twelve children. He often reflected fondly on his childhood and the many memorable experiences he shared with his siblings. In his later years, he resided in Nottoway County and at Lake Gaston, where he enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the company of family and friends.

He took great pleasure in hunting, watching westerns, spending time with loved ones, and visiting the Outer Banks. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his deep affection for animals, and his distinctive, memorable laugh. To his many nieces and nephews, he will always be lovingly known as “Bubba.”
