Gladys Griffin Loftis

Gladys Griffin Loftis, 92, of Blackstone, Va joined her family in Heaven on October 12, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Eva Watson Griffin and Austin Griffin; sister of the late, Harold Griffin, Miles Griffin, Lowell Griffin, Katherine Peebles, Rachel Hodge, Carolyn Elmore Thomas Moore and Lucy Thorpe. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Faye Papke (Howard) of Florida, Shirley Anne Marshall (William “Pogo”) of Victoria, Ruby Lee Joseph of Blackstone; son, John Lee Loftis Jr. (Shelia) of Blackstone; grandchildren, Melissa Anne Williamson (Jeremy), Kevin Jon Webb, Donna Gillam; numerous great- grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; her sisters, Willie Cundiff and Betty Bates; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Gladys grew up in Kenbridge and retired from Velvet Textile in Blackstone as a weaver. She enjoyed cooking, yard sales, keeping a clean yard but most of all doing for others. She will always be remembered for telling it like it is and for the love she had for her family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 4 to 6PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Private burial services will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone.
