Harold Lynwood Leonard, Jr., 76, of Victoria, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on March 19th, 2026.
Born February 21, 1950, in Lynchburg, Harold was the son of Ruby Jackson and Harold Leonard Sr., and the stepson of Roger Shannon. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971.
A talented musician, Harold loved playing guitar and violin and was known for his powerful singing voice. He performed with the band Pikesville Rye, opening for Conway Twitty and performing during the inauguration of President Ronald Reagan. Throughout his life he also worked in sanitation as well as carpentry, providing faithfully for the family he loved.
Harold will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and generous heart. He had a deep love for animals and gave many stray pets loving homes over the years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ycollette Leonard; his children, Jennifer Leonard and Kellie Spitznogle, Son in Law, Richard Spitznogle; his grandchildren, Victoria Suter, Christopher Suter, Denise Spitznogle, her husband Cody Dumire, and Cody Spitznogle; and his great-grandson, Jaxson Dumire. He also left behind a sister; Christine Abbott, her husband John and children Alexia and Hunter.
He’s also survived by his brother in law, Ed Geer and his son, Tony Geer.
In addition to his parents and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Geer and Nephew, Eddie Geer.
If love alone could have kept him here, he would have lived forever. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
