Jerry Wilbon Pope

Jerry Wilbon Pope, 77, of Drakes Branch, VA joined his family in Heaven on June 30, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott Wilbon Pope and Helen Atkins Baldwin. He is survived by his children, Jeremiah Pope, Tobe Pope (Kristin) Cody Pope, Jamie Pope, Melody Pope and Tommy Lacks; numerous grandchildren; his sister, Judy P. Wilmoth (Wayne) of Victoria and his brother, Glenn Pope (Kathleen) of Richmond; nieces, nephews extended family and friends; faithful friend and caregiver, David Uwanawich. Jerry grew up in Crewe, Virginia, graduated from Crewe High School, and honorably served our country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war. He will always be remembered for his song writing, playing the guitar and singing.He played in many bands throughout his life. Private family viewing at the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria on Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 7 to 8PM. Graveside funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria everyone is welcome to come.
