Linda Pritchett Kemp

May 6, 1943 — April 25, 2026

Bracey, Virginia

Bracey, VA – Linda Pritchett Kemp, 82, passed away on April 25, 2026, following a fire in her home.

Linda was born on May 6, 1943, in Kenbridge, Virginia, where she was raised by her parents alongside two older sisters. After graduating from Kenbridge High School, she attended the University of Richmond before starting a family and beginning her career. Gifted with numbers, Linda built a successful career as a bookkeeper and accountant before founding her own temporary staffing company. She raised her family in southeastern Michigan and, after selling her business, retired at 58, embracing the opportunity to spend more time doing what she loved.

She was happiest on or under the water—scuba diving in the Caribbean Sea, sailing from Lake Erie to the Florida Keys, on the Chesapeake Bay, and around the world on chartered trips. She also loved driving on the open road with the top down in her little red convertible. An enthusiastic traveler, Linda continued planning new adventures until very recently, frequently inviting family members to join her. She also loved to dance and was often out on Thursday nights enjoying live music with friends.

Linda spent the last decade of her life in Bracey, living across the street from her great-nephew, Mike White, his wife, Kelly, and their two children, whose care and generosity meant so much to her.

Linda lived her life fully and on her own terms. Adventurous, vibrant, and always true to herself, she followed her heart and encouraged those she loved to do the same.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Kristin Peoples Harrison; her son, Brad Hoffman (Barbara); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her two older sisters, Ann Gauchat and Betty White (Ray). She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Anita Kimberley Lewandowski.

A celebration of life will be held at 3PM on May 30, 2026, at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge, VA.
