Patsy Ann Powell

Patsy Ann Powell, 80, of Dundas, Virginia joined her family in Heaven on May 19, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Harvey C. Knick and Frances S. Knick; wife of the late, Richard Gerald Powell, Sr. and sister of the late, Joyce Elsaesser and Ellen Jane Slayton. 

She is survived by her sons, Alan Bates and wife Dana of Chesterfield and Steven Bates and wife Gwen of Powhatan; four grandchildren, Alana and Ally Bates of Chesterfield and Isaac Bates and Caitlyn Hairfield of Powhatan; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Frye of Pecks Mill, WV; her sister-in-law, Jane Powell Gee of Kenbridge; nieces, nephews extended family and friends. 

Patsy grew up in Farmville, VA and later moved to Richmond where she worked for the Chesterfield County Public School System. She retired and moved to Dundas where she ran the Dundas Grocery for a few years. She enjoyed playing cards, beach trips with family and a good cup of coffee. But her greatest love was family.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, 110 E. Fifth Avenue in Kenbridge with graveside services to follow at 11:30 A.M. at the Perseverance Christian Church Cemetery, 2703 Gigg Road, Kenbridge, Va. 23944.
