Samuel H. “Sammy” Reese, 68, of Victoria, VA went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2023. He was the son of the late Herbert Reese and Lucille Daniel Reese and brother of the late Janice R. Harris. He is survived by his best friend,  his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Boswell Reese, whom he always said he wished he had met her first. His daughter, Heather R. “Nikki” Seamster (Eric) of Halifax; his sons, Samuel M. “Matt” Reese (Amy) of Victoria and Patrick C. “Corey” Reese (Laura) of Blackstone; step-children, Jennifer Boswell of Amelia and Holly Karita Martine of Keysville, VA; grandchildren, Chelsea A. Balducci (Jeremy), Christina K. Seamster, Nick Seamster, Kailey Reese, Logan Reese, Cody Jones, Samantha Boswell, Penelope Martine and Xavier Martine; great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Balducci; his sister, Juanita R. “Nita” Sheffield (Ray) of Blackstone; extended family and many friends; beloved fur babies, Scruffy, Cookie, Bootsy and Leo. Sammy grew up in Nottoway County and graduated from Nottoway High School. He was a born entrepreneur. He first started in the arcade business and later owned and operated  Little B’s in Victoria where he dedicated much of his life and many hours of his time to be there for the community. He started VLB Distributing which provided many products and services over the years, from calling cards to wholesale products and general merchandise throughout Virginia and North Carolina.. He was a past member of the Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce and helped with the youth basketball league.  He was amazing with numbers. He enjoyed fishing, pro-football, going on cruises with Sandra and decorating his yard for Halloween and Christmas. He will always be remembered for his work ethic and the love he had for his family and his community. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 6:30 to 8PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11AM. Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to St. Judes in Sammy Reese’s memory. www.stjudes.org
