Sandra Dawne Lindell-Essex

Oct 27, 1953 — Oct 31, 2026

Victoria, Virginia

Sandra Dawne “Sandi” Lindell-Essex, 73, of Victoria, Virginia and formerly of Frederick, Maryland went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Alan Malcolm Lindell and Shirley Young Lindell and grandmother of the late Ella Essex Crown. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Thomas M. “Tom” Essex; her son Greg; her daughters, Kristen (Jason), Mercedes (Scott) and Ashley; granddaughter, Sloane Essex-Crown; two brothers, Mark Lindell (Leslie) and Cam Lindell (Holly). Sandi grew up as a military kid born in Twentynine Palms, California and graduated from Laurel High School in Laurel, Maryland. While she lived in many places across the country during her youth, she found a true home in Frederick, MD and eventually settled happily in Victoria, VA. She retired as a technician for Verizon Telecommunications. Sandi had a gift for bringing joy into everyday life. She loved crafts, candy, Yoder’s ice cream, and could never pass up a good Kohl’s deal. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends. Sandi was perpetually thinking of others and finding ways to make them feel loved and special, whether handcrafting costumes for her kids growing up, picking up small gifts simply because it reminded her of a friend, or always being there whenever someone was in need. Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on November 19, 2026 at The Episcopal Church of St Paul and St Andrew in Kenbridge, VA with repast to follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org/.
