Sterling Ray Skelton, 80, of Victoria, VA, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucious Linwood Skelton and Annie Elizabeth Robertson Skelton; and siblings Edwin Skelton, Lula Skelton, Daisy Codispoti, Ruby Goad, Mary Hudson and Bettie Skelton. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janie Craddock Skelton; his children, Bobby McGhinnis (Angie), Christie Skelton, Ray Skelton, Jr. (Dana) and Michael Skelton; grandchildren, Brandi (Christy), Victoria, Lauren, Jayden, Maddox and Peyton; great-granddaughter, LaiLai and extended family. Ray was born February 9, 1944 in Rehoboth, VA. He grew up working on a farm and had numerous jobs throughout his life to support his family. Most recently he was one of the guys overseeing the Stagecoach dumpster site where he was glad share the love of Jesus. He enjoyed fishing, watching tv, eating snack cakes and reading his bible. He will always be remembered for his giving heart and for his loyalty to his family. The family will receive friends Friday, April 12, 2024 from 6:30 to 8PM at the Staples Funeral Home in Victoria. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Cool Springs Christian Church Cemetery, Keysville, VA.
