William Harrison “Billy” Marker, 88, of Victoria, Va. joined his wife, Shirley Mae Shook Marker, in Heaven on May 16, 2026, the day of what would be their 70th wedding anniversary. He also joined his parents, Ulyssess J. Marker and Lily Mae Cordle; his grandson, Jamie Dwayne Long and his siblings, Mary Moore, John Marker and Edward Marker.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Marker Long, Goldie Marker Oakes and Terry Marker Dalton (David); grandchildren, John Long, Robin Marshall (Curtis), Matthew Oakes, Rebecca Campbell (Jason), Sean Dalton and Kaelyn Williams (Forrest); 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a special cousin, Winston Marker of Ford, Va; and his nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
Billy ended his career as a custodian with the Victoria Fire and Rescue. He enjoyed gardening and fishing with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Tussekiah Baptist Church and a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Victoria Fire and Rescue.
He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic and for the love he had for his family.
